I spotted the above quote on a wall in the mountain village of Teror in the north of Gran Canaria, and all I can say is that it is true!

Here’s a snapshot of our recent trip - it truly is an island of contrasts. From the black lava formed rocky peaks of the interior to the pale golden sands of its southern beaches. From the lush green mountain villages in the north of the island, with their traditional wooden balconies, to the stark, almost lunar landscapes of the south-west and the white-washed apartment blocks carved high into the craggy hillsides in the south.

We enjoyed the cooler climes of the city of Las Palmas and the southern sunshine of Puerto Mogán. We walked for miles, talked about our plans for the future, dined on the freshest of seafood and sampled some of the local delicacies.

The flavours, scents, colours and textures of the island will remain etched in our memory.

As the temperature begins to steadily rise here on

As the temperature begins to steadily rise here on Mallorca, my thoughts are beginning to turn to closing up the Studio for the Summer. It’s time to head slow down, head back to Scotland (via Gran Canaria!) and take some time for myself.

So, with that in mind, I just want to say that the Studio will be closed from Friday 19th July until Monday 16th September. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
